二、正引經文。云不思議熏變者，然若一向可熏可變，即同衣等是可思議，即是凡夫所見；若一向不可熏變，即如玉石亦是可思議，便同權教所說。今以俱非此二，故不思議。

Second, directly citing the text of the sūtra. Regarding "inconceivable perfuming and transformation": if it were purely capable of being perfumed and transformed, it would be like clothing and so forth, which is conceivable, and this would be the view of ordinary beings; if it were purely incapable of being perfumed and transformed, it would be like jade and stone, which is also conceivable, and this would be identical to what is spoken in the provisional teachings. Now, because it is neither of these two, it is inconceivable.
