14.12

法中，論　為緣者，即慈悲願護，說法教導，合正用鑽燧等。入涅槃者，合上火出木盡，灰飛煙滅也。上喻中雖無顯文，以燒木之言便含此義。

In the application to dharmas, on the Śāstra's "act as conditions": this is compassionate protection through vows, and preaching the Dharma to instruct and guide, which corresponds directly to the use of the fire drill and the like. "Entering nirvāṇa": this corresponds above to the fire emerging and the wood being consumed, with ashes flying and smoke disappearing. Although there is no explicit text in the simile above, the words "burning the wood" already contain this meaning.
