17.28

一、標地依者，以文云：證何境界？所謂真如。此則真如是十地所依境也。然地者，就喻彰名，以喻真智能生聖法；今約真如是智所依，故名地依。

First, indicating the basis of the grounds: because the text says, "What sensory realm is realized? Namely, tathatā." This means that tathatā is the objective realm relied upon by the ten grounds. However, "ground" is a name revealed through metaphor, using it to analogize how true wisdom can give rise to noble dharmas. Now, in terms of tathatā being that upon which wisdom relies, it is called the basis of the grounds.
