19.14

調心者，心即是意，調伏心意，令趣向真正故。末世下，出不正相。然戒定慧學及諸雜行多有是患，《菩薩戒疏》云：佛法內人多約四位起行，謂三學及雜行。

'Regulating the mind': 'mind' (心) is precisely 'intention' (意); it means subduing the mind and intention, causing them to head toward correctness. From 'In the final age...' onward, it exposes incorrect marks. However, the trainings in precepts, concentration, and wisdom, as well as miscellaneous practices, often suffer from these afflictions. The *Commentary on the Bodhisattva Precepts* states: 'People within the Buddhadharma mostly initiate practices based on four positions, namely the three trainings and miscellaneous practices.'
