"Those of fixed nature, etc.": all sentient beings across the three groups and five natures possess the mind of the tathāgatagarbha, and all altogether attain Buddhahood. Therefore, the Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra says: "All who possess mind are bound to become Buddhas." The Yuanjue jing says: "Those with nature and those devoid of nature equally realize the Buddha-path." The above has all clarified the dharma that is expressed. "Only then exhausting..." judges this to be the definitive meaning. Expressing the dharma and exhausting its source, it is therefore called "reaching the ultimate." In contrast to the preceding [teachings] which did not exhaust it, reaching the final end of what was initial, it is named the final teaching. Not being the same as [mere] marks of dharmas, it is called "the real principle." The differentiated teaching is non-definitive, thus belonging to the provisional; this [teaching] is the definitive meaning, hence it is called the real teaching.
