二乘下，對教淺深。第三者，是我執俱生。二乘教中說斷此者名為我空。故人天等者，以彼教中但明善惡業緣、受報好醜，故當造業而不知業從何生，故詮法分齊不到第四。

The words from 'The two vehicles' onward contrast the teachings in terms of depth. 'The third' is innate self-grasping. In the teachings of the two vehicles, it is stated that severing this is called the emptiness of the self. The words 'Hence humans and gods' and so forth mean that because those teachings only clarify the karmic conditions of good and evil and the favorable or unfavorable experiencing of retribution, they correspond to generating karma without knowing whence karma arises; therefore, the range of what their Dharma expresses does not reach the fourth.
