4.24

疏　標下，二、釋文，二：初、解標文，即論之初句，中二：今初、單解及字。簡前者，明法不是佛，如言彼子及父，即知子父不同也。合集者，明佛法皆歸，如言請子及父，即知非獨一人而已。

In the Commentary, from "heading" downward, second, explaining the text, which has two parts: first, explaining the heading text, which is the first sentence of the śāstra, containing two parts: here first, explaining the single word "and." Distinguishing from the preceding clarifies that the Dharma is not the Buddha, like saying "that son and the father," whereby one knows that the son and the father are not the same. Gathering together clarifies that both the Buddha and the Dharma are taken as refuge, like saying "inviting the son and the father," whereby one knows it is not merely a single person.
