眾生下，二、引證。此正引前段《淨名經》文。彼文之後乃云：諸佛知一切眾生畢竟寂滅，即涅槃相，不復更滅等。今疏取意，故文少異，下皆如此。

[On] 'Sentient beings,' etc.: the second [part], citing proof. This directly cites the text of the aforementioned Vimalakīrtinirdeśa-sūtra. After that passage, it goes on to say: 'All Buddhas know that all sentient beings are ultimately quiescent, which is the mark of nirvāṇa, and do not perish again,' and so forth. Here the Commentary takes the general sense, so the phrasing is slightly different; all below are like this.
