Regarding the commentary's "inverse perfuming": the deluded mind is originally a dharma that flows along [with saṃsāra], but now it inversely possesses the power to benefit the real. It is also auxiliary perfuming, as it strikes backward from the outside. Regarding "increasing its power": tathatā is inherently powerful, able to perfume the deluded mind to give rise to this revulsion and seeking. Now, being aided again by this pure function, its power is further increased, completing the wisdom of actualized enlightenment. It is like an evil person, having turned toward good, repeatedly consulting with the good person or offering remonstrances; through this, the good person either increases in understanding due to being asked, or eliminates faults due to remonstrance, deeply practicing benevolent conduct and further cultivating virtuous deeds. The original is habitual perfuming (vāsanā); the new is auxiliary perfuming.
