On the Śāstra's text from "All should" onward: Third, he concludes by framing the challenge. "At the same time" has two meanings: first, to differentiate the presence and absence of faith; second, to differentiate the earlier and later of its arising. To know for oneself that the dharma of tathatā exists is faithful understanding; to cultivate skillful means diligently is practice; to enter nirvāṇa equally is realization—the phrase "at the same time" must be applied across all three. On "clinging to differences," and so forth: this means that clinging to such differences as having faith or lacking faith, earlier and later, one then suspects that tathatā also possesses unequal categories and distinctions.
