Comparing the earlier and later, the supreme and inferior each have seven points. The seven inferior points are: (1) inferior position (initial mind of the ten faiths); (2) inferior internal perfuming (powerless); (3) inferior wholesome roots (slight and meager); (4) inferior time limit (not having passed ten thousand kalpas); (5) inferior external conditions (seeing the Buddha through form and marks); (6) inferior generated practice (humans, gods, and the two vehicles); and (7) inferior culmination (regressing into ordinary people and the two vehicles). The seven supreme points are: (1) supreme position (fulfillment of the stage of the ten faiths); (2) supreme internal perfuming (powerful); (3) supreme wholesome roots (having long planted the roots of virtue); (4) supreme time limit (having passed ten thousand kalpas); (5) supreme external conditions (meeting Buddhas and receiving teachings); (6) supreme generated practice (the straightforward, deep, and compassionate [minds]); and (7) supreme culmination (correctly determined and non-regressing).
