[The passage from] "because one" onwards is, second, concluding with the reason for obtaining the name. "Because all sounds are precisely a single sound" means that difference is precisely non-difference. "A single sound is precisely all sounds" means that non-difference is precisely difference. The general meaning takes non-difference as oneness, and difference as completeness. Difference is non-difference, and non-difference is difference: these two meanings exist simultaneously, completely without before or after. Both sections contain this meaning; being completely interfused and unobstructed, only then is it the Tathāgata's secret of speech. It is merely because writing cannot record them at once that they appear as before and after.
