2.26

「後夜，第七梵天又下聽經。梵之光影，倍於帝釋。迦葉夜起占候，見火光益大明盛。明日問：『大道人事火乎？』答言：『不事火也！』『昨夜火光益明大，何也？』

"On a later night, the seventh Brahmaloka also came down to hear the scripture. Brahmā's radiance and aura were twice that of Śakra. Kāśyapa arose at night to observe the signs, and saw the fiery light growing ever more brilliant and splendid. The next day he asked: 'Does the Great Man of the Way perform fire sacrifices?' [The Buddha] replied: 'I do not perform fire sacrifices!' [Kāśyapa asked:] 'Why was the fiery light so much brighter and greater last night?'
