問：何以不歸二乘僧耶？答：此有二義：一約對待義，二乘是所悲濟境故；二約開顯義，二乘所行，亦是菩薩道故。

Question: Why not take refuge in the Saṅgha of the two vehicles? Answer: There are two meanings here: first, in terms of relative contrast, the two vehicles are objects of compassionate salvation; second, in terms of opening and revealing, the practice of the two vehicles is itself the bodhisattva path.
