論曰：為欲發起大乘淨信，斷諸眾生疑暗邪執，令佛種性相續不斷，故造此論。
The treatise says: Desiring to arouse pure faith in the Mahāyāna, to sever the darkness of doubts and erroneous graspings of all sentient beings, and to cause the Buddha-gotra to continue unbroken, I therefore compose this treatise.
