"Furthermore, relying on heedlessness, there is non-enlightenment, which gives rise to three kinds of marks that are not separate from one another: First, the karmic mark of ignorance. Because of relying on non-enlightenment, the mind's movement is karma; when enlightened, there is no movement; if there is movement, there is suffering, because the fruit is not separate from the cause. Second, the mark of the perceiving subject. Because of relying on the mind's movement, it is able to perceive cognitive objects; without movement, there is no perception. Third, the mark of cognitive objects. Because of relying on the perceiving subject, illusory marks of objects appear; separate from perception, there are no objects."
