不覺義者，謂從無始來，不如實知真法一故，不覺心起而有妄念。然彼妄念自無實相，不離（真如）本覺。

"The meaning of non-enlightenment is that, from beginningless time, because of not truly knowing the oneness of the true Dharma, an unenlightened mind arises and there are deluded thoughts. However, those deluded thoughts themselves have no real mark and are not separate from [tathatā,] original enlightenment."
