3.77

執相應染，謂我執相應之見、思惑也。聲聞初果、緣覺有學、信成就發心菩薩皆能頓斷見惑、漸斷思惑，故云能遠離也。

"Defilement associated with grasping" refers to the delusions of views and thoughts associated with the grasp of self. Śrāvakas at the first fruit, pratyekabuddhas in the stage of learning, and bodhisattvas who have generated the mind upon fulfilling faith can all sever the delusions of views suddenly and sever the delusions of thoughts gradually; hence it is said that they 'can leave it far behind.'
