4.31

體熏者，所謂真如從無始來，具足一切無量無漏，亦具難思勝境界用，常無間斷熏眾生心。以此力故，令諸眾生厭生死苦，求涅槃樂，自信己身有真實法，發心修行。

"The perfuming of the essence means that tathatā from time without beginning is replete with all immeasurable untainted [qualities], and is also replete with the function of inconceivable, superior cognitive objects, constantly perfuming the minds of sentient beings without interruption. Through this power, it causes sentient beings to loathe the suffering of birth and death, seek the bliss of nirvāṇa, have faith that their own bodies possess the real dharma, and arouse the mind to cultivate practice."
