答：雖一切眾生等有真如，然無始來無明厚薄、自性差別過恒河沙，我見、愛等纏縛煩惱亦復如是。唯如來智之所能知，故令信等前後差別。

"Answer: Although all sentient beings equally possess tathatā, yet from time without beginning, the thickness or thinness of ignorance and their intrinsic distinctions exceed the sands of the Ganges; the binding afflictions such as self-view and craving are also like this. Only the wisdom of the Tathāgata can know them; therefore, faith and so forth have distinctions of earlier and later."
