5.34

法我見者，以二乘鈍根，世尊但為說人無我，彼人便於五蘊生滅畢竟執著，怖畏生死，妄取涅槃。

Regarding the view of a self in dharmas: because those of the two vehicles have dull faculties, the World-Honoured One only taught the selflessness of persons for their sake; those persons then ultimately became attached to the arising and ceasing of the five aggregates, feared saṃsāra, and falsely grasped nirvāṇa.
