6.21

云何修精進門？所謂修諸善行，心不懈退，當念過去無數劫來，為求世間貪欲境界，虛受一切身心大苦，畢竟無有少分滋味；為令未來遠離此苦，應勤精進，不生懈怠，大悲利益一切眾生。

"What is cultivating the gate of vigor? It means cultivating all good practices without negligence or retreating in mind. One should be mindful that throughout countless kalpas in the past, in seeking worldly realms of greedy desire, one vainly suffered all great physical and mental pain without having the slightest flavor in the end. To cause the future to be far removed from this suffering, one should be diligent and vigorous, not engendering negligence, and with great compassion benefit all sentient beings."
