The Liang [translation] says: 'Because the essence does not cease, the mind is able to continue. It is only because delusion ceases that the mind's marks accordingly cease, not that the mind's wisdom ceases.' (Text) From this one knows that merely ceasing defiled marks is called unmoving. Yet the mental classes of the four wisdoms are precisely the greatness of attributes of tathatā, constantly giving rise to the greatness of function of tathatā, and can still be called the continuation of the movement of the mind. However, because of the complete realization of moving without movement, the movement has no mark of movement; it is not like the functions of the realms of conventional truth, and is not something that the mind, intellect, and consciousnesses of all sentient beings can conceive. The first part, explaining the arising and ceasing of defilement and purity, is concluded.
