5.48

One should know that this person relies on the indeterminate group; by the power of the wholesome roots of perfuming with the Dharma, they deeply believe in karmic fruition, practice the path of the ten virtues, detest the suffering of saṃsāra, seek unexcelled awakening, meet with Buddhas and bodhisattvas, attend upon and make offerings to them, and cultivate various practices; after ten thousand kalpas, their faith is finally perfected. From this time onward, either through the teaching power of Buddhas and bodhisattvas, or through great compassion, or because the true Dharma is about to be destroyed, they are capable of arousing the mind in order to protect the Dharma. Having aroused the mind, they enter the definitively determined group, never retreating, abiding in the Buddha-lineage, associated with excellent causes.
