This is the contemplation of the truth of cessation. Conditionally arisen phenomena are like illusions, which means that within phenomena themselves there is truth. Truth is not outside phenomena; hence it is not within the scope of mental activity, beyond analogy and verbal expression. This directly remedies ordinary beings and outsiders grasping at what is not cessation as cessation, and concurrently remedies the two vehicles abandoning existence to seek emptiness, as well as provisional bodhisattvas discarding extremes to grasp the middle.
