11.58

次辨其因。如《地持》說，具四功德乃能得之。一不習愛欲、二不嫉彼勝、三一切所求等施無悔、四者樂法樂菩薩藏及摩德勒伽。前二離過，後二攝善。就中等施無悔攝功德因，五度皆是攝功德因，就初云施。樂法是其攝智慧因，聞思修等皆是慧因，就初以舉偏云樂法。四陀羅尼，略之云爾。

Next, their causes are distinguished. As the Bodhisattvabhūmi says, only by possessing four virtues can one attain them: first, not habituating sensual desire; second, not envying others' excellence; third, giving equally to all who seek without regret; fourth, delighting in the Dharma, delighting in the Bodhisattva Piṭaka and the Mātṛkā. The first two abandon faults; the latter two gather goods. Therein, giving equally without regret gathers the causes of virtue; all five pāramitās are causes that gather virtue, but giving is named following the first. Delighting in the Dharma gathers the causes of wisdom; hearing, reflecting, cultivating, and so on are all causes of wisdom, but delighting in the Dharma is named selectively following the first. A brief account of the four dhāraṇīs is thus.
