次以無礙對力無畏彰其本末次第之義。德實同體，無有前後；隨相起用，非無本末次第之義。本末有二：一十力為本，依十力故，起四無礙為眾說法。依力無畏，破諸外道說四無畏。依十力故，起一切智漏盡無畏，依四無礙能說法故，起後二種，能說彰道及盡苦無畏。二十力為本，依十力故起四無畏，以有力故於他不怯。依四無畏起四無礙，以不畏故能為他說。故龍樹言「依十力故說四無所畏，以四無畏莊嚴十力。依四無畏說四無礙，以四無礙莊嚴無畏。」四無礙義，略辨麁爾。

Next, contrasting unhinderedness with the powers and fearlessnesses to clarify the meaning of their fundamental and derivative sequence. In their virtues, they are truly of the same essence, having no before or after; yet in giving rise to function in accordance with characteristics, they are not without the meaning of a fundamental and derivative sequence. There are two kinds of fundamental and derivative [relationships]: First, the ten powers are the foundation; relying on the ten powers, one gives rise to the four unhinderednesses to speak the Dharma for the assembly. Relying on the powers and fearlessnesses, one refutes non-Buddhists and speaks of the four fearlessnesses. Relying on the ten powers, one gives rise to the fearlessness of all-knowledge and the fearlessness of the exhaustion of taints; relying on the four unhinderednesses to be able to speak the Dharma, one gives rise to the latter two, namely the fearlessness of being able to proclaim the obstacles to the path and the fearlessness of being able to proclaim the path to the exhaustion of suffering. Second, the ten powers are the foundation; relying on the ten powers, one gives rise to the four fearlessnesses, because having power one is not timid before others. Relying on the four fearlessnesses, one gives rise to the four unhinderednesses, because being without fear one is able to speak for others. Therefore Nāgārjuna said: 'Relying on the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses are spoken of; with the four fearlessnesses, one adorns the ten powers. Relying on the four fearlessnesses, the four unhinderednesses are spoken of; with the four unhinderednesses, one adorns fearlessness.'
