上來第一通解八禪。自下第二別解八禪之中，先解四禪、後解四空。解四禪中，別有六門：一辨定所釋、二開合辨相、三支因同異先後體具多少廢立、四約對道品彰其通別、五修成之相、六隨文釋義。

The above is the first part, generally explaining the eight dhyānas. Below is the second part, specifically explaining the eight dhyānas: first explaining the four dhyānas, and subsequently explaining the four formless attainments. In explaining the four dhyānas, there are six separate sections: first, determining what is explained; second, distinguishing their characteristics through expansion and combination; third, their factors and causes, similarities and differences, sequence, substantial completeness and deficiency, and inclusion or exclusion; fourth, demonstrating their common and distinct features in relation to the factors of the path; fifth, the characteristics of their cultivation and fulfillment; sixth, interpreting the meaning following the text.
