20.59

次第四門就處分別。論有兩說：一說十八在第四禪，佛成道時在第四禪得菩提故。第二家說身口無失、身口隨慧，在欲色界五地所攝。欲界、四禪，是五地也；餘不共法，遍通三界九地所攝。欲界、八禪，是九地也。就處如是。

Next is the fourth gate, distinguishing them by their realm. The treatises have two expositions: One exposition holds that the eighteen reside in the fourth dhyāna, because when the Buddha attained awakening, he attained bodhi in the fourth dhyāna. The second master says that the absence of fault in body and speech, and body and speech following wisdom, are subsumed within the five stages of the desire and form realms. The desire realm and the four dhyānas are the five stages. The remaining unshared attributes pervade and are subsumed within the nine stages of the three realms. The desire realm and the eight dhyānas are the nine stages. The distinction by realm is as such.
