In the seventh section, explaining their sequence. For all received physical bodies, the six faculties constitute the substance, hence they are explained first. Since there are the six faculties, one can distinguish the differences between male and female, hence the two faculties of masculinity and femininity are explained next. Because the faculties mutually sustain one another without severance or cessation, life is explained next. Because the faculties facing sense-objects are able to generate conscious awareness, the five feelings follow next. These preceding are defiled dharmas; defilement must have an antidote, and the antidote refers to pure dharmas. All pure dharmas arise due to faith and the others, hence faith and the others are explained. Because of faith and the others, the noble path is generated; the noble is divided into three stages, and therefore the three untainted faculties are explained last. The twenty-two faculties are briefly summarized as such.
