Regarding the five bondages of the mind: as explained in the *Tattvasiddhi*, afflictions and evil dharmas entangle the mind without letting go; hence they are called 'bondages of the mind'. The bondages of the mind differ, but five types are briefly discussed: 1. craving one's own body; 2. craving external five desires; 3. delighting in associating with assemblies of householders and monastics; 4. the mind having no joy in the noble words; 5. being satisfied with little attainment in wholesome dharmas. Such are the five bondages.
