次明得果多少遲速。問曰：幾業得一身報？《雜心》釋言「生後不定得一身果。現報業者，但得別報苦樂等受，不得一身。」多少如是。言遲速者，問曰：頗有前念作業，後念之中則得報不？論言：不得。業未熟故，要經多時方乃得報。三時報業，略辨如是。

Next, explaining the amount and the slowness or rapidity of obtaining fruits. Question: How many [types of] karma obtain one physical body's retribution? The Miśrakābhidharmahṛdaya explains: 'Karma with retribution in the next [life], subsequent [lives], or indeterminate obtains the fruit of one physical body. Karma with retribution in the present [life] only obtains particular retributions of suffering, pleasure, and the like, and does not obtain an entire physical body.' The amount is like this. As for slowness and rapidity: Question: Can one perform karma in a preceding thought-moment and immediately obtain retribution in a succeeding thought-moment? The treatise states: One cannot. Because the karma is not yet mature, it must pass through a long period of time before one obtains retribution. Karma with retribution in the three times is briefly explained in this way.
