初句利他之因，積劫化生，故云萬世。次句自利之行，三祇修煉，故云百劫。常存、彌固，二行皆不遷也。歷萬世之久常存，通百劫之長益固。問：經說過去已滅，何故二行堅存耶？答：

The first line is the cause of benefiting others: accumulating kalpas to transform sentient beings, hence called "myriad generations." The next line is the practice of self-benefit: three asaṃkhyeya kalpas of cultivation, hence called "a hundred kalpas." "Constantly persists" and "ever firmer": both practices are immutable. Persisting constantly through the duration of myriad generations, becoming ever firmer through the length of a hundred kalpas.
