"Utmost" means the fruit is ultimate and the causes are fulfilled. Manifesting transformation among humanity is called "person," referring to the Unsurpassed Person. The first two lines concern tattva-jñāna internally penetrating. "Spiritual mind" is wisdom, because it transcends conceptual discrimination. "Limitless" is the ultimate principle, because it cuts off boundaries and measures. "Exhausting the object" and so forth means completely awakening to the ultimate truth without stagnating in quiescence. The latter two lines concern upāya-jñāna externally responding: the eyes see to the utmost without being attached to form, and the ears hear penetratingly without being restricted by sound, thereby responding universally to all conditions without being bound to existence. How is it that they are thus unobstructed and unrestricted?
