初句遍計性空；次句名隨相遣，翳差花亡、耳聰蟬喪；後二句結成經義。此中雖帶名相而言，意顯妄執本空。況後引《成具》等，又唯約妄情說邪。

The first sentence is the emptiness of the nature of imaginary conceptualization (parikalpita-svabhāva); in the next sentence, names are dispelled along with characteristics—the cataract cured, the flowers vanish; the hearing sharpened, the cicada buzz ceases; the last two sentences conclude with the sūtra's meaning. Although spoken here with reference to names and characteristics, the intention is to reveal that false grasping is fundamentally empty. How much more so when later citing the Chengju jing and so forth, which speak solely regarding deluded sentiment!
