初句躡前，文簡，具云知與所知等。緣法者，若心若境皆因緣所生法也。非真者，緣集故有、緣離故無，自無主宰故成空假。《中論》云：「因緣所生法，我說即是空」等。

The first phrase traces back to the preceding. The text is abbreviated; stated fully, it would say "knowing and the known," and so forth. "Conditioned phenomena" means that both mind and object are phenomena produced by causes and conditions. "Not true" means that because conditions assemble, they exist, and because conditions disperse, they are non-existent; naturally lacking an autonomous agent, they constitute emptiness and conventionality. The Madhyamakaśāstra states: "Phenomena produced by causes and conditions, I declare to be emptiness," and so forth.
