是以聖人應會之道，信若四時之質（實），直以虛無為體。斯不可得而生、不可得而滅也。
Therefore, the sage's way of adapting to encounters is as trustworthy as the substance of the four seasons, and directly takes vacuous non-being as its essence. This can neither be made to arise nor be made to cease.
