遠法師頃恒履宜，思（去聲）業精詣（至），乾乾宵夕。自非道用潛流、理為神遇（會），孰能以過順之年，湛氣茲之勤？所以憑慰既深，仰謝逾（益）絕。

Master Yuan has lately maintained appropriate bodily conditions, his contemplative practice is refined and consummate, and he is diligent day and night. Were it not that the function of the Way flows silently within him and principle is spiritually encountered, who could, past the age of compliance, maintain such ceaseless energy and diligence? Therefore, my reliant comfort is deep, and the way to express my reverent gratitude is all the more cut off.
