若窮虛極數妙盡冥符（過），則寂照之名故是定慧之體耳。若心體自然虛怕獨感（過），則群數之應固（實）以幾（近）乎息矣。

"If exhausting emptiness and carrying reckoning to the utmost subtly exhausts [them] and darkly tallies with them (fault), then the names of quiescence and illumination are still the substances of samādhi and prajñā. If the mental substance is naturally empty and tranquil, solitary in its affect (fault), then its response to the multitude of reckonings is indeed (truly) close (near) to ceasing."
