'Deeply grasped' means profoundly agreed and approved. His primary biography states: 'Yuan sighed that such a work had never existed before.' 'Caught the meaning' means he grasped the intention of the author. From 'their demarcations of rank' onward means that regarding the indications of prajñā, the doctrinal tenets and lineages of transmission each have their own origin and basis, and their principles are not necessarily completely identical. Truly it is because upon the one mind there are as many aspects of meaning as grains of sand in the Ganges; specializing in one's school's transmission, they are not completely identical. Upādhyāya Yao said: 'Yuan took dharmatā as his tenet, while Kumārajīva took dharmatā as his tenet; they are merely different names for the same core.'
