貧道一生猥參嘉運，遇茲盛化，自恨不覩釋迦祇桓之集，餘復何恨？而慨不得與清勝君子同斯法集耳。

In this lifetime, this impoverished monk has humbly partaken of fortunate circumstances and encountered this flourishing transformation. I only regret that I did not witness the assembly at the Jetavana under Śākyamuni; beyond this, what other regret could I have? Yet I lament that I cannot share this Dharma gathering together with you, a pure and superior gentleman.
