是以聖人虛其心而實其照，終日知而未甞（曾）知也。故能默獨韜光虛心玄（妙）鑒，閉智塞聰而獨覺冥冥（深遠）者矣。
Therefore the sage empties his mind yet solidifies his illumination, knowing all day long yet never having known. Hence he can silently and uniquely conceal his light, empty his mind in profound reflection, shut off wisdom and stop up hearing, and uniquely awaken to the profound and remote.
