The first two clauses generally reveal that the sage mind does not possess discriminating awareness, hence it says "without consciousness"; nor is it sensory perception, hence it says "without knowledge." The next two clauses mean marks are identical to animitta. The next two clauses mean names are identical to namelesness; non-name is called "silent," and non-mark is called "empty." From "vast" downward, it completes the preceding "completely empties."
