神妙靈明，謂般若也。事相，謂人之情見。蓋前所難者，於知不恃、於會不矜，但人之情識虛心容物，比無相般若相去邈然，莫認不矜便為般若。顏子虛懷，孟反不伐，未聞入理。

"Spiritual marvel and numinous brilliance" refers to prajñā. "Phenomenal marks" refers to the emotional views of ordinary people. What was objected to earlier—not relying on knowing and not boasting of encounters—is merely ordinary emotional consciousness humbly accommodating things, which is vastly distant from animitta-prajñā. Do not mistake not boasting for prajñā! Yanzi's open-mindedness and Meng Fan's not bragging have never been heard of as entering the principle.
