承前于何不名，以示用也。逐器應形，無不能也。方圓，喻殊機。應天為天、應人名人，同類攝生，無擇鹿馬、居士宰官等。如本經廣示。

Taking up the preceding 'where can it not be designated,' this indicates function. Conforming to the vessel and responding with form, there is nothing he cannot do. Square and round are metaphors for differing capacities. Responding to devas, he becomes a deva; responding to humans, he is called a human. Gathering sentient beings through shared species, he makes no distinction between deer or horse, householder or magistrate, and so forth, as extensively shown in the root scripture.
