初句躡前理智無二，次句會前不相違背。不體下，意云：三乘之智無殊，是唯不證，證則頓盡，如何分小大之殊、談漸盡之理？

The first clause follows upon the preceding non-duality of principle and wisdom; the next clause reconciles the preceding non-contradiction. From "If one does not realize" onwards, the meaning is: the wisdom of the three vehicles has no difference; it is only that they do not realize it, but if they realize it they exhaust it suddenly—how can you divide the distinction between small and great and talk about the principle of gradual exhaustion?
