十演之七也。謂結習不可頓盡、無為不可頓見，譬如磨鏡，塵亦漸除，明亦漸現。
This is the seventh of the ten elucidations. It means that fetters and habit-energies cannot be suddenly exhausted, and the unconditioned cannot be suddenly seen; just as when polishing a mirror, dust is gradually removed and brightness gradually appears.
