領謂領納，會謂契會。雲庵云：「南北之方定異，寂動二行常一。將定異喻常一，豈能領會也？」

'Comprehend' (ling) means to receive and take in; 'converge' (hui) means to tally with and meet. Yun'an says: 'The directions of south and north are determinately distinct, whereas the two practices of stillness and motion are constantly one. Taking determinate difference as a simile for constant oneness, how could one comprehend?'
