三或有一類，雖不見聞及以聽說如上正法，而見一切菩薩藏法將欲滅沒，便作是念：菩薩藏法久住於世，能拔無量眾生大苦，我應住持菩薩藏法，發菩提心，為滅無量眾生大苦。由為護持菩薩藏法增上力故，於如來智深生信解，為得如來妙智故，發菩提心。

Third, there is a class who, although not seeing, hearing, or listening to the above true Dharma, sees that all the teachings of the Bodhisattvapiṭaka are about to disappear, and then thinks: 'If the teachings of the Bodhisattvapiṭaka remain long in the world, they can pull out the immeasurable great suffering of sentient beings. I ought to maintain the teachings of the Bodhisattvapiṭaka and arouse bodhicitta, in order to extinguish the immeasurable great suffering of sentient beings.' By the predominant power of protecting and upholding the teachings of the Bodhisattvapiṭaka, they generate deep faith and understanding in the wisdom of the Tathāgata, and for the sake of obtaining the wondrous wisdom of the Tathāgata, arouse bodhicitta.
