次佛教立願云：「佛子當發大願，願一切眾生普成正覺。若有一人隨苦惱者，我當代之令彼得樂，至心頭面著地。又願一切眾生，普慈相向，如父如子，身體清淨，如淨瑠璃。若有一人不如此者，我當代之。又願眾生，自識宿命，智慧具足，明達三世。若有一人，不適意者，我當代之。」

Next, the Buddha instructed making the vows, saying: "Sons of the Buddha should generate a great vow, wishing that all sentient beings everywhere accomplish correct enlightenment. If there is even one person who suffers affliction, I shall take their place so that they may attain happiness—sincerely touching head and face to the ground. Furthermore, I vow that all sentient beings will turn toward one another with universal benevolence, like fathers and sons, with bodies pure like clean vaidūrya. If there is even one person who is not thus, I shall take their place. Furthermore, I vow that sentient beings will know their own past lives, be endowed with wisdom, and clearly understand the three periods of time. If there is even one person whose wishes are not satisfied, I shall take their place."
